like a pearl necklace

I wear war like a pearl necklace
carnage my negligee
Draped in the ballgown of battle
trying to unravel the fray
So you sail your ships
on the cold deep blue
And the sirens howl
they call out to you
I know the cut of your cloth
I’m already hemming you in
You’re repeating a pattern
holes in the soles of your shoes
I would rather go barefoot
than to be walked all over by you
so you rouse your troops
and you send them in
don’t let down your guard
cause you’ll never win
I heard you banging you drum
The sound of you blowing your horn
I wear war like a pearl necklace
Carnage my negligee
